GABORONE Rock art sites contribute to the national gross development product (GDP), rural development and poverty eradication and help diversify Botswanas tourism offering beyond wildlife.
Officially opening a month long rock art exhibition at the National Museum Friday, Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Kitso Mokaila implored government departments, the private sector and local communities to work together to develop heritage sites and create an enabling environment for their sustainable use. Mokaila noted that the rock art sites exhibition, a collaboration of four countries, was testimony to the common heritage of humanity.
