The rich ancient history of Libya is drawn and painted in stone on the rock surfaces of the Central Sahara. This rock art anonymous but nonetheless indicative of thriving population with powerful traditions and beliefs, reveals a region totally different from the one known today. Instead of being a hot, dry area supporting little but the dreaded scorpions, the images on the rocks and cliffs show that a much wetter climate once supported a different ecosystem"
